Ours was from BRU and it was organic. I think Serta made it. It cost more than other mattresses, but all of the research I read said not to buy one with flame resistant material/lots of chemicals.

we have one from ikea. I remember reading somewhere (I can't remember where) that they're the next best to organic (and we couldn't afford the true organic ones).
I did notice that there weren't a lot of fumes from it, unlike when we got a new mattress in May...our room stunk for a week!

We got a Moonlight Slumber all foam mattress for DD, it's awesome. Ours is not organic, but it's PVC/vinyl free, no offgassing, non-toxic, stuff like that. I think we got it for around $170. I helped a friend register a few weeks ago, and was completely shocked by organic mattress prices. One was $499!
I love having an all foam one too, it's really light and easy to change. I can't imagine hauling one of the heavy mattresses out of the crib to change a sheet in the middle of the night.
My MIL is buying us some ridiculous $800 organic mattress because she is convinced that any other kind will kill our baby and/or give it asthma. She can go right ahead.
Humm...I didn't know there was so much that went into picking a mattress!! I have never heard anything about fumes or picking organic over non-organic...
A co-worker who has 3 year old and isn't having anymore children offered hers up to us....and FREE was a price we just weren't willing to pass up. Seems to work just fine.....
