PP (V delivery) healing time?

Apparently I never got to the end of my pg books...

I have a "small tear" and "a few stitches" (thanks for the details doc)... I am just wondering how long I can expect to have the itching and occasional pain going on?

I would ask how long before everything is normal... but even I lol at that...

Oh and the bleeding? 4-6 weeks? Or am I making that up?

I had the itching/pain for about 5 weeks. Bleeding for about 7 (it got lighter but it was always there), then occasional spotting until about 9 weeks.

I had stitches and 1-2 weeks I was feeling much better and didn't have to use the cleansing bottle

I only bled for 2 weeks and kinda spotted on and off for the 3rd. I only needed the peri bottle for the first week or so. We didn't end up attempting sex until after 6 weeks and it was uncomfortable. My daughter is 4.5 months and everything has been working well for a month or so. I had a second degree tear and a few stitches.

I had a 2nd degree tear with 3 stitches and only used the peri bottle for a few days. I don't remember being itchy but uncomfortable for about a week. Bleeding only lasted 2 weeks and then it turned clear in the 3rd week and then stopped. We were 'back at it' by the end of week 4.

I'm not sure how long it lasts, but to get through it, have you tried Tucks?  The hospital sent me home with them and I am obsessed.  It is such nice relief.  For the itching, they sent me home with Dermoplast spray.  Both can be purchased at your local Target, Wal-Mart. etc.
