I'm evil

Our next door neighbor (who has a baby) has taken to calling at 8 - 8:45 or before 8 on Saturday mornings, usually to ask DH a question about something house related. (The guy calls, not the girl.)

The first time DH answered it because we thought it might be an emergency, but it wasn't...he wanted to know if we had pipe cleaners. Today he called and DH's phone vibrated and he picked it up by reflex, we were still asleep. Neighbor was like "Are y'all asleep?" Yeah. "Ok, I'll just tell you later." What the hell, are we in kindergarten?

I was really ticked off because we only have a couple more months of sleeping in! I posted on Facebook something about who the hell calls before 10 a.m. on a weekend. He saw it and commented "probably the annoying neighbors"....I am still irritated, I really want to thumbs up his post. Devil

  • Sounds like he had it coming. FB is great for not so subtle hints like that!

  • He probably thinks you were joking with him.  If he was truly sorry or embarrassed he probably would have apologized. If he does it again I would call his house in the middle of the night and ask if they have a cup of sugar you can borrow.

  • That's hilarious not for u getting woke up but the comment. The only thing I can say is it is hard once u have a baby to remember the average person isn't awake if they don't have a newborn/baby. I find myself having to really watch the clock bf calling or testing someone!

    LOL!!!

I bet it doesn't happen again..he JUST called DH back and said that he was needing someone to help him move something heavy but he got it himself, so it's ok. I think he needs a hobby or something...who moves heavy stuff that early?

  • I know I have a very hard time remembering that my son is a freak of nature who is up every morning by 7 if not earlier, regardless of the day of week, so to me 8 or 9 o'clock seems late, 10 o'clock the day is half over! :p

I have made the mistake of calling people on the weekends at 8:30 and waking them up. I apologize but it is SO easy to forget what it is like to sleep in! Though if he does it all the time, that would drive me batty too.

  • I totally agree that it's probably hard to keep track of when you should call people when you have a baby! But we're not close friends with them or anything, and he calls about the dumbest things. Really, do you think we'd just have some PIPE CLEANERS hanging around for you to borrow?? That's something that I"d just go to the store for!

This time it was b/c he needed DH to help him move something heavy.

  • I'm dying that he called to borrow pipe cleaners once. Like, the little bendy things you can buy at Walmart for $2?

Here's hoping for peace and quiet on the weekend mornings for the next 13 weeks.

  • Love the FB comment. Hysterical. Hearing about other people's early risers makes me so thankful for my "teenage 5 year old". This kid will sleep til noon if I let her. I pray #2 is the same....

Yeah, I have no idea. I kept thinking that surely there must be another pipe cleaner that I don't know about?? Maybe he meant Liquid Draino, but in that case, wouldn't you just go buy your own? We have a Target two miles away.

  • plumbing pipe snakes are sometimes called pipe cleaners... maybe he wanted to borrow one of those.

I was looking at your blog and was wondering where your friend got that OU tutu. I'd love to buy one for a friend of mine. Her baby girl is due next week and she would just adore that tutu.

    Thank you
