CR cake is dry and dense. Pinkabella is yucky and their frosting makes me gag. I need to try NY sometime again so I'll hold out judgement. Trophy has great frosting and moist cake but I don't think their chocolate cake is that great. Triple coconut. Swoon.

I agree- I am all for Trophy Cupcakes!!!

My girlfriends and I have been talking about doing this come spring, and wrap it all up with purse designing at Laura Bee in Ballard, followed by drinks and appetizers. 

Purse designing, what???  That sounds super fun!

Of the cupcake places I've tried (Cupcake Royale, Trophy, Yellow Leaf, NY Cupcakes, Simply Sweet Cupcakes) my favorites are Simply Sweet Cupcakes & Cupcake Royale.

I don't like Trophy's (tried 2 different kinds twice) frosting - I think it's too sweet.  As for Yellow Leaf & NY Cupcakes, they're good but I'd much rather go to SSC or CR.

I have only had Cupcake Royale and Trophy Cupcakes up here. I really can't stand either one. There are flavors at both that I like but it's also not convenient for me to get to either as they don't have locations on the Kitsap peninsula. If I have to have a favorite I will say either Sprinkles or Crumb in Beverly Hills. We had both on our honeymoon and they were way better than either Cupcake Royale or Trophy.

Sigh. Sprinkles. That's where I lost my fancy-cupcake virginity -- at the original one in Beverly Hills, in 2008. Those are some FABULOUS cupcakes, and hello, they have frosting shots. They're supposedly opening in Seattle, but they said that 43 years ago and still nothing.

We had them in 2009 and spent a half hour in 90+ weather waiting in line to get them. They were delicious and amazingly our cruise let us bring them on board so we could finish the dozen we bought. They are awesome!

My other problem with the cupcake places up here is that several of the flavors that I want to try have coconut in or on them. I'm allergic to coconut so that hinders which ones I'm able to try.
