TTC after 35

Update

Hi girls. I just wanted to give everyone an update. I went to my first appt. Wednesday and found out I was not as far along as they thought ( I was given a snotty remark by the ultrasound technician about my late ovulation ) and I am 6 weeks 6 days. The baby's heartbeat was 128 bpm which I was told is very strong and that our risk for loss is less than 5%. This sounds magical to us but for some reason I can not stop worrying regardless that we are both super excited. In any case, seeing as we cant contain this happiness any longer, we went ahead and told our family and friends. The joy and energy surrounding us right now is something I wish for all of you. I really wish you were all here with me.

I was given 4 referrals for specialists due to my medical past and my age and am awaiting blood work results and those appointments.

Our obgyn office said we have to pay the deductible in advance to them, which is not recognized by our insurance co. at this time since a claim is not being filed until birth, and that if for some reason with these other drs i reach my deductible, they will pay us back, if not we wait until delivery to see if we have or have not met our deductible at that time and need reimbursement or not. I checked with my ins. co. and they do not approve of this office policy but my husband does not want me to switch offices at this time so we have to go ahead and pay this fee from savings and all the specialists fees out of pocket and keep track of the money for proper reimbursement down the line. I think its ridiculous but anyways, I wanted to mention it to you all.

Wishing you all well and fingers crossed for everyone ( including me )

God bless

  • Glad to hear everything is going well!  That must have been fun to tell your family.  That's a bit crazy about the insurance deductible being paid now.  I've never heard of that. I hope it all works out in the end.
