ummm OUCH?!?!

So this morning about 5 or 6 AM I woke up to a TERRIBLE sharp pain in my left calf. After 4-5 min of HORRIBLE pain it loosened up a bit and I was able to go back to sleep. It is still sore now :( Just wondering if anyone else has had this kinda of episode before?? I have heard of leg pain but this is nuts! lol :)

other than that I hope you are having an AMAZING Friday!! :)

  • Yes this has happened to me.  I get up out of bed and walk barefoot on the cold floor for a few minutes and it stops.  It also helps me if I stretch it out.

  • I haven't this happen since I've been pregnant, but when I was training to run a half it did, like PP said, the best thing is to jump out bed and walk on it!!

  • Yes!  If you bring/stretch your foot towards you, it will help relieve the pain!
  • Oh yeah, I get cramps in my toes, feet and calves all the time. Sometimes they bring me to tears they hurt so badly.

  • OH yeah I got those horrible leg cramps. My calf would stay sore for a few days. I talked to the Dr. about it last time and she told me to increase my calcium intake. Since than I have not had any horrible leg cramps.

  • Yes. I've heard that walking on a cold floor helps, but my leg cramps wake me out of a dead sleep and I am never coherent enough to do that. Point your foot/toes towards your head until it is over. My Dr. also told me take calcium supplements and it has gotten better.

  • I've had that happen several times this pregnancy.  Taking my prenatal vitamins consistently and stretching out before bed seems to have helped.  I've been told that these cramps can be caused by mineral deficiencies, which would explain why the vitamins prevent them!  They do hurt very badly though.
