Every so often I feel like DD's lips turn a little purple. The are normally very pink and they just seem to lose a little color. To be honest, I'm not sure if it is even the light playing a trick on me or a shadow under her nose. She isn't showing distress, nasal flaring or huffing. She did seem a bit wheezy for a couple breaths and was breathing in and out a little fast for a bit. But now she's her normal rosy pink. Should I worry? Or could it be something like a little food went down the wrong pipe or she was a little congested for a bit and clearing it out?

Re: Slightly purple lips after eating?
As long as you are certain that she is breathing ok (watching the nose flares and bottom of neck for sucking in) and not have some type of allergic reaction, she's probably ok and I wouldn't worry.
We have a long history of wheezing and difficulty breathing and I've never noticed a significant change in color on her lips. Even when she was hospitalized. (When I have thought they looked purple/blueish it's always in the bathroom and I think it's just the light in there.)
I know it's something to look out for and it's important to notice if there is significant change in color. I'd just keep a close eye if you think she's having trouble breathing. But, I wouldn't worry.
My husband always says, "you'll know when it's time to worry."
