white noise machine recommendations?

Does anyone really like their white noise machine? any specific features I should look for?

Preferably on the inexpensive side, and even better if it's from Target or Walmart- we need it like... yesterday.

I searched on the internet for white noise MP3.  We found one and loaded it onto my IPOD.  We bought a cheapish Ipod Doc to play it with but before that we just used speakers which worked well too.  We also bought one of those bears that plays the heart sounds but it turns off after 15 minutes which always wakes our LO.  Hope this helps!

 I was just looking at this one online! I like that it's cute and portable, but it doesn't wake LO up when it turns off? That was my only concern.

I have to run a fan at night for myself, it works great for DS as well.

I have the homedics one too $17.99 at walmart- not in the baby section though, its with the picture frames and candles at my store. I also have the sleep giraffe for temporary crankiness, we let the homedics run all night (or you can set the timer too)

I am just turning on a radio to static...that way I didn't have to go out and buy anything special...

I would do this but static is my pet peeve noise... it just makes me crazy!

we have a travel giraffe that plays different sounds along with the white noise. I think my MIL got it at Barnes and Noble

We have a Sleep Sheep and love it! I usually have it set to the 40 minute timer and by then DS is sound asleep. It hasn't woken him up when it shuts off.
