Need help with organization! Please!

Hey ladies! I'm due here soon and trying to get all of LO's clothes organized but I just don't know how the best way to do that is! So I thought I would ask the experts!

She has a walk in closet, right now pretty much everything is on hangers. I know that isn't going to be the best way to deal with everything. We also have no dresser for now because we just don't have room for it.

I have a 3 drawer "hamper" that sits between the crib and glider. Right now I just have breastfeeding supplies in one drawer, gowns in another and bibs/hats in the bottom drawer. I really don't like how I have that!

Then I plan on buying enough of these cloth baskets to put everything else in and place them on the shelf in the closet.

So PLEASE help! Tell me how you have everything organized! Or what you would do with what I have. What would you hang? What would you put in the pink drawers? What would you throw in the cloth baskets?

  • Currently I am using clear plastic drawers to store all of LO's clothes.  I have onsies in one drawer, sleepers in the next and pants and socks in another.  I only keep the current size she's wearing in there and have large storage totes for upcoming clothes.  She has a dresser that I put sheets and things like that in.  When she moves to her room I'll put all of her clothes in one drawer in there.  She doesn't have a ton of clothes either so that helps.

So nothing is hung up? That sounds like the easiest way but I feel like I'm not using all the hanging space we have! LOL

This is the first grandchild on both sides and its a girl in a family full of boys. We have about 80 onesies/outfits just between 0-6 months. I know it all won't be worn so I'm putting a lot of the things that aren't my favorite in a tote on her closet floor.

  • I hang all sleepers/outfits (current sizes only). I don't have a lot of hanger space, but I find it so much easier to be able to see everything. Good idea for you since you have so much stuff.

I would put in the pink drawers: onesies/night gowns/sleepsacks

    in another drawer your bibs/burpcloths/socks

in the baskets you can put your BF stuff. I keep my bottles in a kitchen cabinet, I keep the bottle drying rack on the counter so usually my pump parts are drying on there til the next use, and the pump I keep on my bathroom counter (I pump in there b/c it's nice and warm)

As for all the stuff you have that you don't like - take it back and get store credit. Even without receipts BBB and BRU took stuff back if they carried it. If they didn't carry the item, I tried the other store. I got a ton of credit that way (I took back more than just clothes tho)

I could be wrong, but aren't there hanging organizers that you could use your hanging space for? Like the canvas type things that have 6 or so spaces vertically that you can put sweaters etc in? Maybe that will help?

We have a dresser for Noelle, but so far, all of her clothes fit folded in the top drawer alone. Bigger sizes are hanging in the closet, and the other drawers have things like shoes, blankets, and other random gifts we've gotten but aren't using yet. Then, in the living room we have a short (4 foot?) bookcase with the canvas boxes like what you mentioned above. We have toys in one, carriers in one, books in one, hats/bibs/burp rags in one, diapers in one, health/med supplies in one, etc. Then, her sheets and washrags/towels are in with ours in the linen closet.

Thanks. The pink drawers aren't THAT big so I can't fit a ton of clothes in each drawer.

I would take things back but I have no clue where the came from. Its mostly things my mom and sister bought me and they removed all tags and I have zero receipts for anything. I'm guessing its stuff that they got from someone else.
