This was the name of the secretary at the doctor's office yesterday. I've never seen Tanya spelled this way. Do any of you baby name experts know anything about this version? Is it even an accepted variation?

FWIW, we are not pregnant, nor even TTC currently. I was just intrigued (and not necessarily in a good way) by the name.

oh gosh, I have to say I think that's awful. I would've never guessed in a million years it was Tonya, I thought it was like an American Indian name! I'm fine with people altering a letter or something but this is too much.

I know a Tanya, Tonya, and a Tawnya. This isn't a name I thought would have gotten hit by the kre8iv treatment, but I guess I learned something new today.

And I totally mispronounced Tonjha when I read it.

I have seen it spelled Tonja before (I think it may be Russian, like Sonja, but am unsure). Have no clue where the H came from.
