DS is 2 weeks old and didn't have any issues burping until a couple days ago (we're breastfeeding). Now, as he eats more and eats more quickly, he's getting gassy. Sometimes, especially with night feedings, it's so bad after he eats that he's awake and totally uncomfortable for a long time (like an hour in the middle of the night, ick). Our pediatrician mentioned yesterday that we could try some gas drops to break the big gas bubbles into smaller ones. Has anyone had really great success/failure?

We tried Mylicon drops when DS was having really bad gas (fortunately, it seems to have mostly passed). To be honest, I wasn't really convinced that they did anything aside from make me feel better because I was trying to help. Bicycle legs seemed to help a lot more (at least, for gas).
And yeah, he definitely got more worked up about it in the middle of the night.
DS is a horrible burper but Mylicon seems to help because we are able to get a lot more burps out of him. It doesn't work that way every time though but he has had some HUGE burps too, it is awesome. DS has also been gassy so I am hoping by getting these burps out it will help him.
