I keep waking up on my back numerous times throughout the night and it's really starting to get irritating. It sucks that I never know how long I was like that but I know this morning I must have been on my back for awhile just because I could really feel it.
Ugh, so annoying!

Re: Mini Vent: Can't stop sleeping on my back :(
I do the same thing and I used to get really mad by it because its just habit! But my doctor also said that if im on my back to long my body will move because it will be harder to breath and it is your body's natural reaction to move to a more comfortable position to breath. So I dont worry about it as much but you will notice getting SOB and without thinking move i do this...
I did get the total body pillow to help with going on my back and with my hips it is def uncomfortable at first because im so used to tossing and turning looking for that spot but after awhile you cant sleep without the pillow and it gives enough support for your back so that your not completely lying flat
My dr said that if I shouldn't be sleeping on my back, I won't. Unless you're waking up in pain, numb, or gasping for breath, I wouldn't worry about it.
But if you really want to try to break the habit, one word - Snoogle!
i was a stomach/side sleeper before and i can pretty much sleep on my side for most of the night. right now i'm getting the dreaded hip pain (even with my crotch pillow there to support). the only way i'm finding relief from it, is to sleep on my back with my pillow under my right hip to support it.
it's not that big of a deal right now, but in a few weeks, you won't even be able to tolerate laying on your back and it won't be a concern
Thanks everyone for the reassurance that I'm not alone in this! I am not really worried about it, more just irritated that I can't train my body to sleep on it's side!
I do have a Preggle and love it, but when I sleep with it, or any pillow, behind my back I just push it away from me in the middle of the night.
I'm not in any pain or anything like that so I know I'm not causing any harm at least!
This is me as well. I usually end up half on, half off the snoogle, but always laying on my back. I actually wake up more often from hip pain after trying to sleep on my side.
I sleep on my back every night propped up on 3 pillows. I have terrible, terrible acid reflux so if I try to sleep on my side (or even on only one pillow) I wake up numerous times with that terrible taste in my mouth.
My dr. says it's fine too and I've never had issues breathing at all.
This is what I do as well, it helps a lot
