I tried to find your OP about the difference in your boys size when you were first admitted to the hospital. I saw yesterday that the discordance has fixed itself - YAY!
I'm asking because my growth u/s yesterday showed about a 1 pound difference between my boys. No red flags, everything looks good in terms of development, strong heart beats, etc. It seems that Baby A has put on his fat and Baby B has not.
Just wondering the difference in your boys and if you did any special diet in the hospital to help make up for the difference.

Nope, no special diet. They actually haven't put me on any dietary restrictions, so I've been eating pretty much the same as before I was admitted (with the exception of eating hospital food).
They weren't concerned about my weight discordance either, even when it was 21.7% since Baby A was developmentally fine as well. But they also told me that weight measurements via u/s aren't super accurate. At 30 weeks, each baby could be off by as much as 12oz of what they quoted me. They also said it depends on how good the pictures they get are. And sometimes the position of the babies can influence measurements as well.
The peris I've seen have all said that past 28 weeks, TTTS isn't as big of a concern. And the OBs here have all said that even if my discordance got worse, they still probably wouldn't deliver. With twins, if one is thriving and the other isn't growing but is otherwise fine, it's usually better to leave both in to benefit the one that's not growing well. Only if the small baby isn't doing well developmentally would they deliver both early due to growth restriction.
I honestly wish I could tell you how my discordance went away, I'd love to be able to say I did this, this and this. But I have no idea. The only thing the OB said about it today was that it might have something to do with bedrest controlling my BPs better so Baby A could get more nutrients from the placenta. HTH!
21.7% isn't that far out of the normal range from what my OB says. My boys are in the range of 43% according to yesterday's u/s. But my OB and a 2ns u/s tech both said they thought some of the measurements were off on Baby B because of his position and activity.
My dr does not think TTTS is the issue. There are no signs of it - two placentas seperated by a thick membrane, ample fluid in both sacs, equal development of brains, etc.
Thanks for the info. I'm hoping that Baby B hasn't started adding his fat. The 2nd u/s tech yesterday said the belly measurement is where the biggest difference is and the "baby fat" plays a major role in this measurement.
