Yesterday I went for my glucose test and they also checked my iron. Got a call back today, thankfully my glucose was fine but I am low iron and need to be on iron supplements. I am not happy about this. I knwo that the iron pills made my sister extremely constipated, not looking forward to that. Crossing my fingers that the pills balance me off instead since I am just the opposite of constipated now!

Re: Iron
I'm anemic and my doctor gave me specific iron pills.
The Slow FE brand (at Target) are supposed to be better about not causing constipation.

Esma: I'll turn him into a flea. A harmless little flea. Then Ill put that flea in a box. And put that box inside another box. Mail that box to myself. And when it arrives. ILL SMASH IT WITH A HAMMER. Its brilliant, brilliant, brilliant I tell you. Genius I say.
Or to save on postage. Ill poison him with this.
That was what they told me to get. Hopefully it will hold true and constipation wont' be as much of an issue.
Make sure you're getting lots of fiber and water and you'll be fine. It may take a week or two for your body to adjust.

This is the exact one my OB told me to get as well, I have been on them for almost 2 weeks now and no constipation. I was anemic with DD as well, apparently it is a common thing to have. You can take colace to help balance the constipation as well.
