Life Before the Space Age (Vent/NBR)

My roommates (a married couple who are newly PG, actually) do not have a microwave. Have not had a microwave in months. I love them both dearly (this is the third year I've rented my "room" from them), but I don't know why there is still no microwave. I like oatmeal in the morning. I like cooking my frozen veggies. I love hot chocolate. And left overs. Heck, I make my frozen dinners when I've worked a 13 hour day. I need a microwave, but they won't let me just buy them one. I would give up a nice toaster AND dishwasher for a good microwave.

The day of reckoning is coming, however. I have a BBB gift card and coupon. There will be a microwave for the good of the household soon.

 How did people live without this amazing appliance before?!

Sigh. I miss my home with DH (and awesome microwave).

Our upper cabinet fell down on top of our toaster and broke it a few weeks ago. I just bought a new one and it sucked not having it, but I can't imagine living without a microwave! I do remember not having a microwave when I was a kid and going to Sears to buy one which was a huge deal, but I was 7, so I didn't do much cooking then.

Our dishwasher died in August and we've been with out it since. I'm going crazy haivng to wash dishes by hand; not to mention my growing belly is getting in the way. We finally got the money saved up to buy one, but I'd rather spend it on baby stuff. lol
