Ladies with babies on Zantac - a ?

We started Zantac 8 days ago.  For the last 3 days, Carina has not napped for more than 30-45 minutes.  When she wakes up, she is writhing in pain, seemingly from gas/poops.  Giving her Mylicon hasn't helped.  She is also waking up more frequently at night. 

Did anyone else experience anything like this when when starting Zantac?

DD doesn't nap much during the day.  She does sleep well at night though.  Along with zantac, we find adding rice cereal to her bottles has helped tremendously.  It helps her keep the food down and she doesn't seem so uncomfortable. I've also heard it takes about 2 weeks to notice a big difference.

I've noticed that Avery has had really painful gas since she's been on Zantac, too. We switched her to formula at the same time, however, so I'm not sure which one is causing it. We're thinking of taking her off of it to see if it fixes the gas problem.

It could just be that the zantac alone isn't helping? We just added prevacid into the mix and I'm praying it helps. Ds has always has bad gas too though.

We switched to soy formula (supplementing only though, mostly bm) shortly after the Zantac and noticed a big difference.  She might have an issue with milk protein...

When we started the Zantac, our pedi also prescribed a stronger version of the Mylicon drops, and that has helped tremendously. The Mylicon drops from the drug store just weren't cutting it for Rylee, and she surprisingly likes the prescription strength version. I don't give it to her everyday but on the days she seems to be having trouble I give it 2 or 3 times.

My LO was on Zantac for awhile.  Prior to the Zantac he didn't seem like he was in pain when he spit up.  He just spits up often.  Anyway, when I started giving him the Zantac it seemed like he started spitting up even more and there just was no need for him to be on it in my opinion.  I talked about it with the doctor and the GI specialist and we've put taking any meds on hold. I don't want to use meds if its not necessary.

I just posted about this a bit ago. DS started Zantac and two days later he started getting really gassy and in a lot of pain. We have since stopped the Zantac hoping that will help him and started Mylicon to see if that will help the gas as well. He seems to be able to pass gas easier but I am still waiting on a good poop diaper...hoping he is not constipated.

One of the side effects of the drug on the drug information sheet that we were given with it was constipation. There were a bunch other side effects but I can't remember them off the top of my head.
