Question of the Day:  How do you think you are as an IF patient?

I think I can be a somewhat annoying patient at the RE office.  I'm not overbearing or act like a know it all but I ask a lot of questions and did ask to be put on lupron and used opk's this month when they told me not too-but I learned my lesson from that-kind of (got a false positive OPK from the lupron).  Although tonight I used an OPK and a PG test just to see what they would say and the internet cheapie tests said I was ovulating and PG-haha.  I know its the HCG shot.  So how do you rate yourself as a patient?

  • Can I join???

I'm in the starting stages of my first IVF this time around (second IVF total).  I'm starting my lupron in 6 days.

QOTD;  I think I'm a good patient.  I do what they ask of me but I also do my own research because I like to know what they are asking me to do! =)  And if I have a problem with what they are asking me to do I know how to ask the right questions.

  • An update...I am stimmming and my ER will probably be Tuesday or Wednesday!

QOD: I think I am a very easy patient in all aspects of my life not just the RE. I am pretty laid back and actually do not ask to many questions. I feel like I am pretty educated about my situation before I go in to the office.  It use to drive me crazy in the OBs office when I would sit in the room and the doc was running very late for my appointment and I could hear the person in the next room asking a zillion quesitons.

  • I think I/we are pretty easy... In that we go in very well educated (thanks in huge part to the IF/SAIF ladies), and because we really like and agree with our RE pretty much all of the time. My nurse probably gets caught off guard by wanting to know all my numbers...but eh. She can deal! The only thing that makes us "difficult" is our choice to do limited fertilization, but our RE has been incredibly supportive, he has never pushed us to reconsider, and is creative about finding ways to respect our wishes and yet still get pregnant.

    Because we're fancy like that.

  • My appointment is with the new RE is March 11.  I think I a pretty easy pt, I have a pretty good understanding of things and know what questions to ask.  I am NOT a good pt's wife (good for DH not the Dr's).  I get very anxious, high strung and confrontational (none of which reflect my actual personality) thank God DH got out of the hospital yesterday.

  • Can I join you guys?  We just did our first IUI with injectibles for #2.  It was a BFP... but turned into a chemical pregnancy.... I am still in beta hell.  After 4 Beta's there has still been a slow rise.  Praying that today's beta starts to fall. So we can try again.

I am a good patient.  I do what they say, and ask questions when I have them.  I am also a nurse.  So I have some understanding to how things work but I also do alot of research on my own to stay educated.

Thanks, Ladies.  I pray this road to success is short for all of us!!!

After 2 years TTC with mild endo and an elevated FSH. We were successful with our second IUI after Lap surgery. Our daughter born 12/2009. Currently trying for #2. IUI#1-miscarriage, IUI #2-BFN, IUI #3- BFP Pregnancy Ticker
  • QOTD: I think I'm a pretty easy patient. I think I ask questions when appropriate and follow instructions, etc.
