I haven't seen a post about this yet, but for those of you whose babies have already gotten their 2 month shots, or are just about to get them like mine (time goes way too fast!), did you or are you going to break up the series and not get them all at once?? IMHO I don't really see a problem getting them all at once, isn't that what the majority of people do? But, my family is kind of making me seperate them because they are utterly convinced that my neice is autistic because of her infant vaccinations... I know this is a whole other argument that I have no opinion of either way, but was just wondering how other people feel about vaccinations?

Re: 2 month shots??
We are on the alternate schedule -- meaning he gets shots every month as opposed to every other month -- just because we thought it would be better to spread them out in case of a reaction. He did fine with the rotavirus (drops) and the DTaP and we are going back in a few weeks to get the rest of them.
I am thinking of keeping the alternate schedule until he is about six or eight months and then switching to the regular schedule. Our pedi said we could switch anytime.
That's the truth of it right there! The vaccinations-cause-autism scare erupted from one "study" where a doc in England looked @ 12 kids & whether they had autism & had been vaccinated. That's not enough to actually base any sort of causal effect in. My son had his 2-month shots - which are pretty much the same here in Canada as you guys get in the US - and no ill effects. I mean, he screamed when he got them & he was a little cranky & sore for the rest of the day, but otherwise no issues.
Allergic reactions to the shots are pretty rare. They happen, but not very often at all.
Get your child their vaccinations! There's a massive cohort of kids out there who aren't vaccinated against deadly diseases like polio, mumps & measles. Every child who isn't vaccinated against these diseases makes it more likely that children who can't get vaccinated will get sick.
Tell your family that they can mind their own business & you'll get the vaccinations that your child needs.
You are absolutely correct and the quack who fabricated the study linking vaccines and autism lost his license in the UK.
