Sadie for DD?

What do you think of the name Saddie for DD? My DH and I can't agree on any names for DD or DS. We don't want a name that is common, but not something too out there either. Any suggestions?

At the end of the day, it is up to you and your SO.  However, I really don't like Saddie.  I know a few dogs named such a name.  Sorry!

Can't say I have ever heard of the name Saddie (like Laddie, but with an S?).  Do you mean Sadie, like the nn for Sarah?  I like the name Sadie a lot (even on its own) but you won't get great feedback on that particular name on this board since consensus usually seems to be it's "a dog's name."

This. Please don't play with alternate spellings unless you have a strong grasp of phonetics. Saddie does not equal Sadie (SAY-dee).

i'm named after my great great great aunt sadie. but is that saddie like sad? if it is i don't like it at all. it sounds like "are you happy? are you saddie?" i don't know. it's weird.

Sorry, typo- I meant to spell it 'Sadie'. I would also pronounce it "Say-dee"

I hope you just mistyped that and you mean Sadie. Saddie is not pronounced the same.

I don't really like Sadie. I find it too twee and cutesy.

I don't hate it, but I don't love it.  And to stick with the "it's a dog's name" theme...I had a dog named Sadie.

My name is Sadie, and I have loved it ever since I got over never having merchandise with my name on it (my best friends were Samantha and Jennifer and this was the 90's). Personally, I don't know any dogs with my name, although I do get asked if it's a nn sometimes. Most people I meet seem to like my name though, and it causes me very little hassle.

i adore the name Sadie! Christina Applegate just named her daughter Sadie Grace, so pretty!

The only thing that would hold me back is getting the comment: i know alot of dogs/horses with that name all the time. Don't know why people always say stuff like that, it's such a lame comment, imo. I know dogs name Jake, and I don't say to someone I know who is Jake, hey my neighbors dog is Jake, lol
