Rollerblading with LO?

Does this sound like a dumb idea? I didn't think so, but my mom gave me the side eye when I mentioned it. Let me preface that by saying, there is a paved, one mile, FLAT trail that I am thinking of. I also have the wrist strap for the jogging stroller.

Minus me falling on my arse, is there any other issues that you can see?

  • Mind you, I am thinking about in a couple months when it warms up.

  • I would equate this with jogging with LO because of the speed which isn't really safe with the car seat attachment.  I would wait until LO is old enough to sit in the stroller (about 6 months).  At that time, its probably ok.
I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

You're not supposed to jog with the carseat attachment? Ak! Wonder about just using the regular travel system stroller?

  • From what I understand, even with a carseat attachment, jogging strollers aren't supposed to be used for actual jogging/exercise until your child is at least 6 months old.

I don't think its stable enough and too top heavy.

  • I agree with PP about the carseat attachment part. However, I've never had any problems with rollerblading with a jogging stroller in general. I've always done it with a double stroller and my nieces and nephews. It's a great workout and I find that the faster pace of rollerblading keeps them happier for longer than when I just walk.
