Fist in the mouth?

Forget thumbs, all of a sudden my 2-month-old has started trying to suck on his entire fist... I think it's mostly when he wants to eat. 

Anyone else's LO doing this? I really don't want him to make a habit out of it!

Yep. I don't think she knows what she's doing yet because sometimes she just gets a finger in her mouth, sometimes all four, and sometimes she's trying to cram her fist in there.

My LO does this, my doc said he just wants to suck and its a soothing thing for a baby. She said it was fine for them to do it.

yep. he does it when he's getting hungry.

My daughter does it when she's not hungry. At first I thought it was a hunger cue, but I soon learned she just likes to comfort suck on her hand.

My 2 month old has also recently started sucking on his fists.

My LO will suck his fist...he's tried several times with sucking his thumb but he can't figure out how to suck on it without gagging himself

yeah she just started this. mostly when she's hungry.

Yep.  He likes to suck on his thumb/fist/sleeve.  I have no problem with it as long as he doesn't smack himself in the head trying to get his fingers in his mouth - that always makes him cry

Our LO is doing this also, but it's ALL the time, not just when she's hungry. I wouldn't worry about it becoming a habit just yet.

Our little guy does this same thing. I don't care as long as his hands are clean!

Yup I had read it's a soothing technique that's usually mistaken for hunger. Mine does it all the time!
