Babies: 0 - 3 Months

First trip to the IL's

So my husband and I are doing our first trip to his parent's this weekend.  Trying to figure out what I need to bring.  In a way I don't want to bring too much (his parent's both smoke and I have to wash/febreeze almost everything we take there).

So here's the scoop:

  • They live 2 hours away.
  • Don't have any baby related things at their house (PNP, crib, changer etc.)
  • Plan for the day is basically to show baby off the extended family.

So what do I need??  should I bring our PNP to put her down for a nap at sometime?  What other suggestions?Figured I'd take advice from people that had been there done that.

Also in terms of the plan for what to do with family.  Our LO can get super fussy after a few hours at home with visitors/being held all the time (she doesn't seem to really sleep well being held).  Should I just tell family that I understand they're there to see her but she needs a nap? or bite the bullet and let her be fussy?   I'm already planning to put my foot down about some things like feeding her away from family (which at times takes 60 minutes. (our little one can be a slow poke at times) I breast feed/am not keen on feeding her in front of the whole family.

 Any advice will be appreciated.
