What do you eat for lunch?

I'm running out of ideas of what to bring to work for lunch. Any healthy snacks you recommend?

Re: What do you eat for lunch?

  • for snacks i like: hummus and carrots/celery, cheese and crackers or cheese stick, pnut butter and crackers, fruit, yogurt, trail mix (Make your own if you want! goldfish, cheerios, seeds, etc go a long way), graham crackers.

I try to stay away from the 100 cal packs b/c i think i find more filling stuff than what is offered through those packages.

  • For lunch it varies by week, but my dr said I was a little bit anemic so I've been making roast beef/spinach wraps every day this week!

I like wraps, sandwiches (I'm still eating lunch meat), leftovers from the night before.

For snacks, I love cottage cheese, veggies & ranch, crackers/cheese, fresh fruit, granola bars...

  • I bring hummus with pita bread and fruit, egg salad, chili, or salad with grilled chix on it.

  • Today I had a chicken salad sandwich on a bulkie roll with lettuce and pepperjack cheese...and an apple.

  • That sounds so good!
  • Lots of salads, leftover chicken breast, soups/chili, other leftovers for lunch. For snacks, I like yogurt or cottage cheese with a little fruit mixed in, pears, apples, oranges, carrot sticks and hummus, celery and almond butter, almonds, walnuts, half a sandwich, hard boiled egg, string cheese, edamame, and on and on!
  • I am very gratefull that I work 5 min away from my house as well as 5 min away from my mom's house so I usually go to her house for lunch and she loves to cook so I am very thankful for her being so amazing!

are any of you counting the days so you can deli meat again? I am craving sooo much however the listeria issue scares me

  • I would love to eat deli meat again...but the thought of heating my deli meat before eating it doesn't sound good at all to me. Alot of pregnant women still eat it.

I can't wait to have it on a regular basis. I cheated one day and got an italian sub from the deli at the supermarket. I just had to have it. I know I shouldn't have, but I did.

  • Sometimes I bring a freezer meal (by Kashi or Amy's) when I'm feeling very uninspired. But usually it's leftovers from the last night's dinner.

  • Lots of salads and soups for lunch! As for snacks, I find nuts (pistachios in particular) to satisfy me, also carrots and dip! Yogurt and berries is good for my sweet cravings though.

  • I usually have half of a turkey/cheese sandwich (not always heated :), yogurt, and a piece of fruit.  I can't seem to stomach salads these days.  I will bring leftovers if they aren't too "heavy" tasting.  I hate going into a food coma during my afternoon classes.

  • I feel like I'm always so hungry during the day, so I try to bring a lot of "snack-y" foods with me.  for my actual lunch, I usually do leftovers, a big salad, PB&J sandwiches, etc...  For my sides & snacks, I vary between string cheese, yogurt, fruit (I usually bring 2 pieces of fruit with me, one for morning & one for afternoon), hummus

I've eaten it through my whole pregnancy (and I'm pretty strict about everything else!) My dr said he wasn't worried about it at all and to go for it. I do make sure I'm getting it somewhere reputable, but I seriously don't think I could have made it through without it!

  • Usually a frozen meal or soup and fruit, granola, popcorn, etc.  I like to eat salads for lunch, but I'm a teacher and only get 30 minutes for lunch and usually have work to do during lunch, so salad takes too much work to eat.
