If you EBF and still haven't had a pp period, do you take a pregnancy test every month? I am on the mini-pill, but clearly it's not 100% effective. I'm just worried I'm going to end up on I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant...
When I was BFing DD, I would take a pg test the first of every month starting at about three months or so. I had a bunch of internet cheapies leftover from when we were TTC. I will probably do the same this time

I am taking my temperature. I take it about the same time every morning. Usually it's about 97.3 for me. If it goes up by 4/10 for 4 days I've ovulated. (97.7) and if It stays high I'm pregnant. It will stay elevated for most of the first trimester This is a lot cheaper than pregnancy tests especially since you might not get periods for a year.
I didn't get my first post partum period until i had completely weaned DS - so around 11 months after delivering. I took a few here and there but nothing consistent. I plan to get an IUD this time around (mini pill last time) so I've kept my internet cheapie tests will take one every so often again.
It took me a year to get a PP period last time. I use an ovulation microscope if I think there is a possibility I've ovulated. I wouldn't bother with all of the tests.
If you have a dollar tree by you, you should stock up on their tests. They are actually rated pretty high and then you don't have to spend a million dollars on tests.

I will if we start having sex regularly! temping would be worthless since i never sleep...
As long as you take your temp after you've been asleep for an hour it's pretty accurate. I just take it at DD's first morning feeding. Not exactly the same time everyday but I figure close enough for an infant. I can't bare to set an alarm when I'm already up so frequently.
