I am sending off an Aptitude Test for children's literature and I am in need of some inspiration.
I'd like to ask a favor of you...
Could you ask your child one of these questions and let me know their answer?
Q. #1: What kind/kinds of books do you like?
Q. #2: If you could be an animal, what animal would you be?
It must be in their own words. Though I have worked with children of various age groups over that last 10 years or so, I am trying to gain a better concept of age-specific ways of thinking (please indicate the age as well).
Your participation is much appreciated. Thank you!
Re: This is just for fun...if anyone is interested.
DS is 6 1/2 exactly today.
Q#1--
Me: Hey, buddy, what kind of books do you like?
DS: Bad Kitty and Frog and Toad.
Me: Anything else?
DS: Harry Potter.

Q#2
Me: If you could be an animal, what kind would you be?
DS: a cat
Me: why?
DS: because they're cute and I would like to walk around like a cat. And why are you even typing this up? Who is this for? Who wants to know?
I laughed out loud at this. Paranoid much? lol
My daughter was 8 in December:
Q1:
Me-Hey Bailey, What kind of books do you like?
Her- Umm, Judy Blume but I do not like fairy tales. Why?
Me- Just wondering.
Q2:
Me- If you could be an animal, what would you be?
Her- A horse or a monkey.
Me- Why?
Her- A horse because if I was at a barn and there were people that were poor or in a wheel chair and hurt or something I could help them and let them ride me. A monkey because it would be fun to swing around on branches.
Mine asked me why too. He's 5 1/2.
1. "Today my favorite book is Green Eggs and Ham"
2. "A giraffe" Why "So I could have a long long neck."
Q. #2: If you could be an animal, what animal would you be? Tiger
