Signed up for classes!

I finally signed up for childbirth ed class at our hospital, a breastfeeding class, and infant CPR class (I love that our hospital offers one).  The childbirth ed is just one weekend, so we're waiting til April to do it.  It includes a hospital tour, too, and the scheduler told me it's great for husbands - tells them what to expect and gives them a to-do list :)  Mine will need that so he doesn't freak out when it's go-time!

Whew, check!

  • We chose our class but haven't signed up for it yet.  Time is going so quickly tho I think we should do it this week!

  • I wanted to sign up for them at my hospital, but then I went on my local bump board and people were saying it was a waste for how expensive they are. Now I'm torn.

  • Yay!

We're doing a package similar to yours. It includes childbirth (+hospital tour), breastfeeding, infant safety/CPR, and a baby basics class. We'll be busy pretty much every weekend in April! (I figured I wouldn't want to sit in a plastic chair for hours in May...not sure I'm going to be happy doing it in April!)

  • I'd say if you want to take them, sign up soon!  All the March classes were full and April classes were starting to fill up, so I'm glad I didn't wait any longer.  Some of the classes at our hospital are only offered once a month, so there aren't a lot of time options.

Cvl, re: not being sure about the class, I hear you.  But honestly I'd rather hear from folks where I'm going to be delivering how things will go that day, what facilities they have, what they will and won't do, etc.  I wouldn't want to take an outside class and have expectations, only to find out that they can't be met at my hospital, or that the hospital offers other options that I didn't learn about.

  • We just did that too!  We are taking breastfeeding, infant CPR, anesthesia, and labor and delivery. We are also taking a hospital tour. I'm pretty excited.

     Agreed, CHECK!

  • Good job!

We're doing pretty much the same classes:

Birth Preparation - beginning of April (one weekend)

Infant & Child CPR - beginning of May (one evening)

Baby Care & Breastfeeding Essentials - beginning of May (one Saturday)

I would have done all the classes in April or even March but wasn't able to, so I'm hoping early May will be ok for those last two!  :)

  • we signed up for ours and i was grateful to learn that is was 125 per couple and not per person as I was originally told.  it is a six part class at the hospital.  i am not thrilled that there is no CPR component to it, so now i have to find one

  • Great job, ladies!  Haha it's stupid, but being able to check off childbirth class stuff from my little Bump checklist felt good.  That's one less crying baby icon I have to try to ignore ;)  Haha.  I also finally got a hold of our HR contact person to discuss maternity leave, so that's done too!
