First Childbirth Class!

We had our first childbirth education class tonight- not sure how useful the information was in the first class, though we did some relaxation and that was nice.  Next week we start to actually go into the labor process, so hopefully that will be more useful!

Has anyone else started taking classes?

I am actually slightly disappointed bc the only childbirth classes in my area are done in ONE day (its not a few over a few weeks).  I have read that its better to break everything up.. But what a reality for you that SOON your LO is going to be HERE!! have fun:)

We did them with DS #1 and I really liked going to them. Glad you had fun!

what type of class are you taking?

My first class is next week on Monday. I'm kind of nervous - there are 5 classes and they are 2.5 hours each! I'm wondering what in the world kind of information about labor they can give me that requires so many hours to teach.

We don't start until May 5. I'm a little nervous about waiting so long, but because of my husband's work schedule we would either have to be taking them now or in May. The head obstetric nurse where we the Baby recommended May so the information would be fresher in our minds. Hope that doesn't come back to bite us!

We start our series of 3 in a couple weeks ... I'll be in third tri, looking forward to the classes, and maybe meeting some couples like us who live in the area.

Our doctor told us to wait until at least 30/32 weeks, so our class isn't until April.  Quite a few friends recommended just taking the one full-day course (otherwise you have to go during the week after work for a few hours... and I don't have the time or energy for that)!  I'm guessing that I will find half of it not that helpful, but am looking forward to the labor part.  I just want to know how I know when I'm in labor and what to do!

We're going to have to wait. It's busy season for my husband.  We also can't do weekly things.  So we'll have to find a 1 day type thing after tax season dies down.
