So I'm getting super overwhelmed with all of the stroller choices out there. Between reading baby bargins and researching on line, I don't even know what to think anymore.
I live in an area with tons of trails and will plan on doing a lot of walking. I don't do malls/shopping areas often. I also want to buy just one stroller. So what happens when you have baby number two? We won't have #2 for at least 2 years, so maybe I am over thinking this? If not, any good rec's??
Re: Talk to me about strollers .... thinking ahead to baby #2
I also wouldn't worry about number two right now, because you are not going to want to get a double at this point when you only need a single (and I see mixed reviews of the City Select - can go from one to two). You can always sell the Bob (great resale value) and get the double Bob (think it is called Duallie). At that point you can reevalute your needs. You also may not need a double if LO is a big older, or you may only want a sit n'stand. IT really depends on how old LO1 is when you have LO2.
Personally, I got the Bugaboo Cameleon. I LOVE it, but the Bob is even better for hiking/outdoors. Ours is great in the neighborhood, worked great at the beach, and is perfect for the mall (and our lifestyle of not really hiking - I would babywear, anyway). DH insisted on getting a Maclaren, and although it is a great stroller, it was totally unecessary imo, especially since I am not expecting LO2 and we'll have to get another. If I could do it all over again (and know I'd get pregnant so soon), I'd probably would have done the City Mini and saved the few hundred bucks. I do love my stroller, though, and will miss it. HTH!
i agree, baby jogger city select is the only stroller on the market that converts to a double. but as it isn't really intended for off-roading. but it's possible, my friend has one, she doesn't do much hiking but she says it does go thru dirt and grass ok, just not sand. more than likely though since it's not designed for the rugged outdoors, you're going to wear it out quicker.
i'm personally going to be getting a city select, but i'll be doing all my walking on sidewalks and paved trails
if you're concerned with having to get another stroller down the line, i'd buy used. or if you want to buy new right now, sell it or consign it to help pay for a new double when it's time.
Not quite true. UppaBaby Vista allows for a ruble seat, but it's not an all-terrain stroller. The whole Phil & Teds all-terrain line converts to doubles. The Britax B-Ready also converts.
We, too, have all unpaved walking trails in my area. We don't go to the mall frequently and am unconcerned about having a small stroller for those few trips. After much deliberation, we decided upon the baby Jogger City Select. It's like a BOB but has the cool fold. I'm now reconsidering... to the Phil & Ted's line. All of their all-terrain strollers have the ability to add a rumble seat.

We got this stroller as well. I obviously haven't used it yet but what I like is that it's not huge, for a double stroller. It also folds up very easily. We got it based on several recommendations.
If you want a stroller that turn in to a true double, it's the City Select. Yes, the Uppababy Vista, Britax B-Ready and Phil & Teds all have additional seats, but they aren't ideal doubles. The Uppababy has to have both children facing mom, and the second seat in the Phil & Teds is pretty much right in the parent's stride (we tested one out in store and Hubs kept kicking the back of the seat even when taking short strides).
If we were having twins, we could have purchased the City Select. Even though we plan on having our second in short order, you just never know, so we decided to cross that bridge when we get there and get a single stroller.
yeah i realized that now, totally baby brained it again, and i even RESEARCHED those strollers... having lots of those moments lately lol
i think i'm also just very excited because i'm getting the city select soon lol
i don't really care for the other strollers though with the bucket seat... or what i like to call the "butt baby" seat. plus i have back problems so i don't think reaching that low to get baby in and out would be good for me.
