Where did all of you who have at-home dopplers buy them...and what kind did you buy?? I'm thinking of getting one...I don't want to spend a ton, but want a good one...recommendations?? Thanks!

I bought the sonoline B from crucialmed.com.  I haven't used it yet, just ordered Monday.  I read alot of posts from people here recommending it. Was $58 I think.

Got the Sonaline B 3mhz, it arrived today I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. I have not found the h/b. I like my last doppler but unfortunatly that one broke in our move in Oct. We got this one off ebay for $62.

How early is it possible to hear the hb with this one? The webstie says 12 weeks, but has anyone heard it earlier than that??

I have read posts of people who say they've heard it earlier, but I don't know for sure.

I got this one in the mail today and I can't seem to hear much of anything with it. How far along were you when you found a HB?

I have the same one and heard it very faintly at 9w3d.  It was loud enough to get a count on the screen at 9w4d.  I then could not find it again until 10w1d.  I have had no trouble finding it since then.  I tried tonight and found it right away!

At 9w4d, I had to go extremely low on my belly (pubic bone) to find it.  Now the baby is much higher up!

I was first able to find the hb @ 9w5d

What made it easiest was that my OB tried first at an appt, and so I knew from observing her where and how to look.

At this point your ute is still tucked way down in your pelvic cavity, and so you need to search along the bone line down there. It will take a looooooong time to locate, so be patient. Try moving the probe around at different angles and pressing pretty hard (I've almost given myself bruises at times).

It is very very difficult to locate baby's hb so early on and even more difficult to actually locate baby's hb and not your own - your hb will sound like a slow swooshing noise, and baby's will be a faster more staccato noise (said to sound like a galloping horse). If you need help distinguishing, go to Youtube and search for videos, so that you can actually hear the sound you are looking for.

This and i love it!  I was able to find my babies HR on Sunday, i went in Monday for an appt and Dr. couldn't find the HB so i was sent for an ultrasound  : )  I came home and was able to pick the HB up again with my Sonoline.
