Two Under 2

Doomed

DD was an angel of a newborn. She slept 10 hrs a night at 2mos, self-soothed, eats everything we give her, only cried when hungry, got herself into a nice routine without pushing, loved baths, never sick, etc.

I am terrified because I know my chances of getting another like that are slim to none, and I'm exhausted already and the kid's not even out of my belly yet...

Did anyone have 2 easy babies in a row? Or am I doomed?

Re: Doomed

  • Ds#1 was a good baby but ds#2 was a reeeeaaaally good baby. He slept 8 hrs at 4 weeks and just goes with the flow. Makes me scared to have a 3rd!

  • You aren't doomed.  #1 was a fantastic baby and EVERY SINGLE PERSON told me our second would be tough because of it.  I finally met a mom in line at a grocery store who told me not to believe those people - she had 5 children and all of them were "easy" babies.  That woman renewed my faith in humanity at that point!  FTR, my first two were amazingly easy going babies.  Here's hoping #3 follows suit!

  • My kids got MUCH easier and laid back BUT, they were ALL bad sleepers for the first year (when they finally STTN). I was 3 for 3 on bad sleepers.
