Just curious if I have to wae DS up to feed. He has been gaining weight steadily and eats more often then every 3 hours during the day, so do I have to wake him up to feed at night he never goes more then 4 hours on his own any way. Thoughts?

Re: Waking up to feed?
dd is a small baby, but I've been allowing her to sleep up to 4-4.5 hours at night. She's been eating consistenly 10 times a day. We go for a WBC on friday so we will see if she is getting back to weight (she'll be 7days then) But the nurse at the hospital said not to worry about it, especially if they cluster feed before they sleep a bit longer. That's what she tends to do in the evening.
Let your baby sleep! My doctor said once she was up to her birth weight then we could let her sleep and she could wake herself up! Now she will eat about every 3 to 4 hours through out the day and then will sleep 5-6 hours at night! she lets us know when she is hungry!

This. My girl started sleeping 4-5 hours at night at about a week old and my doctor said that was fine (she's gaining weight like a champ). I wake her if she goes close to 4 hours during the day, but she generally cluster feeds in the morning and evening so she gets many feedings in through the day.
