Cloth Diapering

new baby and first days of CD

Here is my birth story, a bit traumatic, but we are happy and healthy! https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/49586204.aspx

Reflections on first days of cloth diapering. Baby Cullen is 20.08 inches long, 7 pounds and 11ounces. FB XS are very big around his thighs, so we are waiting to see what happens when he finally goes in one. The GMD workhorse and Lil Joeys are AWESOME! We used bummis fleece liners for the meconium and we were able to spray it right off with our sprayer. The GMD prefolds seem like they will be huge, so I am going to try the Little Beatle hemp PF next.

  • Congrats on your LO!
  • Congrats on your LO!! Thank you for your update! I don't see very many of these! :)

Question - Did you use your fleece liners in the hospital and/or when you brought him home?  I don't have any of these, but we won't be starting PFs until we come home from hospital. Do I need them?

  • They were not necessary since the meconium sprayed out, but I figured if the meconium was bad and would not spray out, that I would rather throw away a cheap fleece liner than a whole diaper.

I could not, for the life of me, probably due to severe baby brain, figure out how to comfortably fold down the prefold below the umbilical clamp.

  • Thanks I find these posts so helpful.  Do you have the orange or yellow prefolds?

  • orange PF, but the orange workhorses fit awesome! the kissaluv is really nulky, but fits around his thighs better than the FB xs.
