If you feed your kids beans....

How do you serve them?

I've tried to give DD beans just on her tray to eat and it's been a no go every time.

Chickpeas, adzuki, etc, she just hasn't digged it.

For a while she wasn't into breads but now she seems to be coming around so maybe I should try a quesadilla again?

I'm making General Tso's mung beans tonight so maybe I'll try to give her some of that (I make it into a pancake, so as if it were breaded meat, just instead it is breaded beans) without the General Tso's sauce of course!

She loves chili.. so what ever beans you throw in there.. she LOVES. not to mention the beans in bean borritoes... LOVES. This kid loves beans! Mushed or whole.

I just throw them on the plate and give them to him.  He loves any kind of bean.  You name it - he inhales it.  I would just keep trying, I think that is the trick to getting kids to eat anything really.

mine too!  She loves black beans.  I think b/c they are the perfect size & she munches them with her front teeth!  LOL.  Pinto beans, refried beans, peas, purple hull peas, black eyed peas! 

My husband laughs & says she's definitely my child b/c she LOVES beans & all veggies-even brussle sprouts!  (Too bad she won't eat meat though!  Ughhh)

one of my go to meals for DD is a bean and cheese quesadilla. she loves the beans. i mostly use pinto, but she's not picky about beans. she'll eat them all alone on her tray too.

My baby eats pintos, chickpeas and lentils.  I usually have to cook them well and add veggie chunks and some sort of spice.  I add garlic or onion powder definitely.  I also add chili powder to the pintos or curry to the chickpeas and lentils.

DD really likes Lentils, especially if they are cooked in Beef Broth.  I haven't really tried other beans yet.

DS eats beans, mostly with rice.  Sometimes he will have a bean type soup, where there is a broth and veggies and bits of meat with it as well.  haven't tried chili yet.

Z loves them seasoned and that's it. He has only had black beans and brown beans.

DS loves black beans and black eyed peas. Hates Chickpeas. We just rinse them and put on his tray or sometimes in a quesadilla.

I tried ketchup & bbq sauce & you would have thought I put acid on it!  LOL  She freaked out!!!  LOL  looks like our girls are picky little turkey's!!

My daughter loves bean anyway I give them to her. She'll eat just plain old black beans without seasoning or anything. She loves Chili. She likes lentil soup.  If I put beans in a quesadilla, she'll pick the beans out to eat them.

DD loves beans just out of the can. We usually do black beans and add some kind of seasoning (cumin, onion powder, or taco seasoning) but also do vegetarian chili too, which she loves. She's liked garbanzo beans when we've given them to her also.

They are usually in something like chili or salsa chicken. Although we went to a mexican restuarant once and got her a taco and it came with refried beans and she loved them.

DS really likes black beans. I just rinse them off and then heat them up.

1. Quesadilla - smoosh black beans on tortilla, top with salsa and cheese, heat

2. Hummus (garbanzo beans) on anything - bread, crackers, spoon

3. Baked beans (bush's)

4. Chili with kidney beans

5. 3 bean hotdish - hamburger, kidney beans, butter beans, pork n beans, ketchup, a little brown sugar and vinegar

DD isn't a fan of baked beans but she loves black beans when we have them with corn and rice and salsa chicken.

DD loves any kind of bean. Sometimes I mix pinto beans and sour cream for her and she practically licks the bowl clean! I know it's a weird combo but I think it's good too .

He'll eat them straight up.  I'll use diced ham and black beans or any kind of bean and put them on his tray.  He eats the ham first then the beans are gone!

DS loves chili (standard and white chili) and red beans & rice.  One of his favorite snacks or mealtime veggies is lima beans, warmed slightly and he eats them as finger food.

I just found out she will eat black beans or pinto beans when I throw em on her tray. At first I was cutting them in half but I realized that is not necessary. She loves it. Try again in a week or so. GL

DD loves baked beans. I have to give her a small amount or she won't stop eating them.

I just smush them before I give them to him.  ALthough, sometimes he'll eat chickpeas whole.

  I'm from Texas.  We don't ruin our chili with beans...

MY Bean loves pintos cooked with onions, peppers, and cilantro 

red beans & rice are a big fave of his, also.

I've also made navy beans with a ham bone & he liked those.

Basically, it's beans + pig bone + water & time = happy Beanie!
