Help with baby neck rash

My LO has developed a red, bumpy rash on his neck and the top of his chest.  I'm sure it's because his neck is fat and there is no air getting to the area.  He also drools a ton, so his bib and clothes are often wet. I try to keep him as dry as possible, but it is impossible to keep up with the drool.

Luckily the rash doesn't seem to hurt or itch him, he let's me touch it and doesn't react at all.  I'd like to get rid of the rash before it starts bothering him.

I just put some Desitin on it, I'll see how that works.  What are some things you have used to get rid of the rash?

TIA

  • We used desitin and it was gone the next morning. Just make sure you clean it once a day.

  • We use vannicream (available at the pharmacy but without a rx) and see good results, it also works wonders for my dry skin too.

  • Our doc told us that if DS got a rash in his neck rolls, we should use cortisone cream on it. Luckily he hasn't, but that was the advice we were given. Also, to keep it clean and dry as much as possible. GL!
