TTC after 35

Can you see this?

I'm not sure if you can see the second line here or not. It's super faint. I'm 11 dpo. I'm freaking out that I'm imaging this. But if I'm not, then I'm concerned I need to be on progesterone. My previous progesterone tests were 8 and 1.8 (yes, on an ovulatory cycle). I called my RE's office to see what they will do for me, and I'm hoping they will do a blood test as well as progesterone. But since I'm not technically in their program yet, ie. I haven't done anything more than some blood tests and am not cycling with them yet, I'm worried they won't prescribe me progesterone. I'm in meetings all morning so I can't just pop over there.

What are your thoughts on "demanding" progesterone given the faintness of the second line?

Re: Can you see this?

  • yes. How cool. I am sure the RE will give you progesterone. Good luck with your pregnancy.
  • The picture is a little tough to see but it looks like a 2nd line to me.  That is nuts! I would think the RE will have you come in to check progesterone and give you a script if it is low. Good luck!!  SOOOOO happy for you. You've waited a long time for this!! Hugs!!

  • The line is slightly visible on my camera but once I upload it to Photobucket the compression makes it harder/impossible to see. I'm on a demo at work from 8-11 and am so distracted. This is my first month using the Wondfro strips - so I'm a very wary of it. Thanks for all your support and excitement. I'll be on later today with more info. Hugs and love to all of you!

  • Wow, congrats! H&H 9months to you.

  • Holy moly. I don?t know what to say. I?m shaking and freaking out. I went in for a blood hcg test and a progesterone test around 11:30am. They weren?t sure if the progesterone would make it back today, and I paid the extra to have a late same day turn around on the blood hcg (they usually only do same day turn around if it?s in before 9:30am).

I just got a call from the nurse and it?s positive! The beta is 34. They usually want the beta at 50 by day 14 (I?m 12dpo today, not 11 as I said earlier.) I go back in on Friday for another test to make sure that its continuing to grow. My progesterone was 25, which she said is plenty high so they won?t prescribe progesterone at this time.

This feels like a dream that I?m going to wake up from and it will be all over. I called MH on the phone earlier this morning because he?s so calming when I get anxious. He?s been on a business trip, and I haven?t seen him since last Thursday! He wants me to call and leave him a voicemail as soon as I find out, so that he doesn?t have to wait until I get home from class tonight at 9pm. I so wish I could do something cute for him ? a onesie, or a sign, but he already knows it?s a possibility and I go straight to school from work.

You ladies have been so amazing. The past couple of months on this board have really picked up and I feel like it?s my ?home board?. It?s been a great support system and I hope it?s OK that I?ll be hanging out here some still until it settles in. I love you all and am sending you all tons of prayers, good luck, positive vibes and baby dust!

  • No picture. I didnt get a chance to get an FRER so I just waited for the blood test. I dont know why my post came in all funky before - I think b/c I copy and pasted from another document. Anyway, hopefully its fixed now.

I think its your prayers! Seriously. :) My changes in the past month - added Vitamin D supplement, Evening Primrose Oil 1000 mg, Synthroid 25mcg, and Vitamin B6 100mg. We also used PreSeed this cycle, which we are hit or miss with.

    Hugs to you all!
