Baby Names

Marisol....

I'm not having any more children however, just heard Marisol and love, love this name.

My girls are Emerson and Landry so, I like unusual names.  When I heard these names they just stuck. Perhaps this will give someone out there a cute name for a little lady.  : )

  • My sister's friend is named Marisol. I always thought it was a sweet name. She is Hispanic, btw.

  • My aunt is named Marisol. I adore her so I adore the name. We're Spanish and it's a pretty well-known Spanish name.

That's interesting that it's a popular Spanish name.  I know I've heard it but, never payed attention until hearing it this evening.  I love it.

  • I think Marisol is lovely, but I do think you need at least a little Hispanic background to pull it off.

    i agree.

i feel the same way about lourdes...i love the name, but think it only goes with someone with a hispanic background, or, at a minimum, looks hispanic.

I also find this interesting.  I would never qualify as being Hispanic in any way but, I would be very comfortable giving my baby a name from the Mexican culture.  Perhaps being from Dallas my taste is swayed a bit more South than expected.  ::::shrugs:::: love the name.

  • Maybe because I heard it all my life, but I'm not a fan. I don't know many younger girls with it, it's usually on middle aged women or older in our area.

  • I love it and it was on my list.  DH wasn't sold.  We have a Spanish last name (although neither of us speak it fluently) and DH knows little of his Mexican roots because his grandfather passed when his father was 3.
