So it looks like we may not be getting a house, but still have to do some refiguring. We were looking at evergreen way...Park Ridge is $745 a month (incl water, sewer, garbage) and so far that is the cheapest we have found... Anyone know what they are like or have another recommendation???
TIA
ETA: We already live on Casino. DH's car was broken into 7 days after we moved in. His car was empty, who the heck breaks into an empty car. Then one night someone side swiped the back side of his car. I also hate getting stared at like a minority.
Re: apartment recs-Everett?
I used to live in Everett, but I don't know of those apartments. Honestly, I'd stay away from anything on Evergreen Way for the most part. It's a busy road, and not really the best place for a family.
A quick google search turned up these reviews, which don't look so great.
There are nice areas in Everett, but there's a lot of yucky crime ridden areas as well.
This exactly! (We must have posted about the same time)
I second whoever said not to move somewhere off Evergreen. South Everett isn't much better, but we lived in this complex https://www.forrent.com/apartment-community-profile/1008023.php and liked it. The manager wasn't my favorite person, but she liked DH so she was nice to us :-) They are off 112th street by the back entrance of Costco. The apartments were fairly inexpensive and we had a great amount of space (2 bed/ 2 bath 1006 sq. ft) and we had an outside deck/porch with an outdoor storage closet that locked. It's close to Silver Lake, Safeway, Costco, and the express lane/carpool on and off ramps to I-5 (I can't remember what they're called).
I'd steer clear of any apartment on 112th between I-5 and Hwy 99 and avoid anything off 4th or 7th in South Everett. Good luck!
stay far far away from Casino road!!
I'd check out the east side of Silver Lake...
I'll chime in to repeat what most people have already said - Casino road is Sketchy. Really really sketchy. As are most complexes on Evergreen way.
There are 'good' pockets in Everett (we live in a residential area that's decent - but we're bordered on 2 sides by less nicer neighborhoods).
