I have 3 wonderful Kids with my ex husband , and I have gotten remarried to the most wonderful man and he LOVES MY KIDS AND ACCEPTS THEM AS HIS OWN . But we are wanting to add 1 or 2 children to our family . But our youngest child is now 5 . And I had my tubes tied during my c-section , they removed a small section and burned to ends . What are the odds of getting pregant on our own . And is there a test to see if my tubes have reversed themselves or grown back ??? Plz help us
My oldest sister had her tube (she had a tubal (sp?) pregnancy) tied and burnt and it wasn't irreversible. She remarried after 14 years and had the IVF procedure and on the first time with two inplantations she became pregnant with twins. She had my nieces 10 years ago so I'm sure there are even more ways now.
I'd go to a specialist to check things out. Best of luck to you!
An HSG can tell you if your tubal ligation "failed". If your tubes are still "blocked", your option is to undergo a reversal surgery. If that isn't successful, IVF would be the option for you and your new H to have a bio child. GL!

Thank You very much for your help !!! Do you know what exdactly a HSG test is ?? Is it like a ultrasound , or what . I'm just curious ... You are a very nice and polite person . I've had people get mad at my post , I posted it also on the TTC board cuz it made sense to me. But I told off by some people .
A HSG (hysterosalpingogram) is a test used to determine the shape of your uterus as well as the shape and "openness" of your fallopian tubes. Essentially they will insert a dye into your uterus and up through your fallopian tubes (this is all viewed on an X-ray while the procedure is being done). They try to "spill" the dye out of your tubes to ensure they're open. It's actually pretty cool because you can see the whole thing on the X-ray while it's being done.
The whole thing only takes about 15-20 minutes. Some women don't feel a thing while some say it's VERY painful. For me, it just felt like bad period cramps. They'll usually have you take Ibuprofen (and maybe an antibiotic) beforehand. I went right back to work afterwards.
You should contact your OB/GYN and explain your situation and what you're hoping to accomplish. If it were me, I'd probably want an HSG before undergoing surgery for a reversal (JUST to make sure they're still blocked). If they are still blocked, hopefully a reversal surgery will be successful for you so won't even have to worry about IVF. GL!
