What do you do to help your LO get ready for a nap? We were doing stories then a short rock/sing a song then laying her down awake. She would fuss for 5 minutes or so then fall asleep.
It makes her angry if I am in the room with her, if I am not holding her, which some of the books suggesting getting closer and closer to the door.
Today was the second time in less than a week that she took no nap at all. She is only 17mo, I am not ready for no nap!
Re: Nap Routine
How long have you left her in there? Is the room totally dark?
Evan would go through phases where he would take FOREVER to fall asleep...but I made a rule to leave him in there for his minimum nap time - which was an hour and a half (he never lasted that long though)
He also doesn't sleep too well if his room is light.
Her room is completely dark with a sound machine on.
Both days I've left her in there for a minimum of 1 hr with pretty much constant fussing or full blown crying. (once she is sobbing, I know she won't go to sleep so I will go in and try to soothe her, but it never works.)
FWIW, she goes down really well for DH and babysitters, its just me that seems to have the hardest time.
