I know that hcg shows up in your blood before it is secreted in urine, but do you know if the numbers in the urine correlate with the numbers in blood or is there always less hcg in the urine?
I think that the pee tests normally detect a minimum of 20 hcg wheras blood will detect anything over 0 making blood test much more accurate if you are testing early

if you get a pos HPT you have about 20-25 or higher at least.
after that you can't tell the amount of hcg in your urine - the darnkess of the line has nothing to do with it- b/c some of us have more in urine, sometimes it's more diluted if you drink a lot, etc.
Ok, thanks!! I knew that the darkness of the line didn't matter, because some tests dont have as much dye or the sample is more diluted, etc...just obsessing and hoping for the best. lol
I don't think there's any correlation. Urine HCG tests are qualitative (+ or -), while blood HCG is quantitative (you get a specific # that indicates how things are going).
