Positive and negative pregnancy tests

We took a test on the 18th and it was positive.  We were so excited and even told our parents and friends that we were pregnant.  We went to the doctor the next day and had a negative test.  They told us that we could still be pregnant and to keep testing.  Two days later we took another test and it was negative.  Could we still be pregnant?  Or did we have a chemical pregnancy?

maybe go back to the doc and ask for a blood test to see if you're pregnant.

The same thing happened to me.  I waited a week to take another test, it was positive.  I hope it's not a chemical pregnancy, that would be super dissappointing.
