Uterus Police

This legislator is a total nutjob!

Obviously he doesn't realize how much pain he would cause, how common miscarriages are, and how the causes almost always are never known. I'm anti-abortion, but even I think this guy is going off the deep end.

This will never pass thank goodness.

Re: Uterus Police

  • Oh Georgia.  You so crazy.

My favorite part is where he wants to nullify Roe v. Wade.

  • There are no words that would properly reflect the ignorance of this man.

It's at moments like this I truly understand that men and women will never understand each other on all levels.

  • Oh yeah, thats just what a woman who suffers a miscarraige needs to deal with; having to submit "justification" for what happened.  No it will never pass, but it is so incredibly offensive that he even proposed it, I just dont know where to begin!

  • That's just sad. Pathetic, really.
  • Because pregnancy loss isn't hard enough? Outstanding work, let's take all those extra tax dollars we waste on public schools & use them to investigate and prosecute all those ladies out there forcing miscarriages on themselves. I applaud your noble cause sir!

  • As someone who's had a miscarriage, this literally makes me sick to my stomach.

  • I don't even have words for how disgusting this is. What moron.

  • How terrible that he would even suggest this. He obviously does not understand miscarriage.
  • With how devastated I was with my miscarriage at 10 weeks, I probably would've ended up in the loony bin if someone started questioning why it happened. I was so upset over that loss, that when I was pregnant with DS, I had severe anxiety until I got to see his little heartbeat fluttering on the u/s. Even after that I had many moments of "what if..." that DH had to talk me down from.

This is such an offensive, idiotic idea being put out there by someone who obviously knows NOTHING about the topic.

  • Totally insane. I think this is especially asinine:  "The bill is mostly aimed to make sure that any attempt to remove an embryo or fetus from a mother must be with the goal of a live birth. Ectopic pregnancy? which can be fatal to mother and fetus? is no exception."

Personal feelings aside, can you imagine the cost of investigating every early miscarriage?  The rate of m/c in the first trimester is very high, and to discover why a fetus was not viable, they'd have to do genetic testing on most of them.

  • Are you f'ing kidding me?  I'm lucky that I have never experienced a loss, but I do have many friends who have and I can't imagine the type of pain this would have caused them.

  • I thought Uterus Police was just what OP termed the article. I cannot fathom that was actually real. WOW.

  • Have fun with that jerk off, Georgia. Misogynistic much?

  • That is appalling.  I can't believe there are people like that out there

  • Could you imagine the trauma to someone who had a late term miscarriage/very premature birth to have to be questioned afterward? "Oh, you went for a jog before miscarrying at 20 weeks? Jail for you!" I can't imagine anything more cruel.
  • This makes my blood boil.  Men are biologically incapable of understanding the mental and emotional aspect of carrying a child and the associated torment of losing a pregnancy.  This particular man is also apparently incapable of being sympathetic or empathetic to the situation not to mention anything of his obvious ignorance as to the frequency and lack of scientific understanding as to the specific causes of miscarriage. This is roughly the equivalent of setting up a system to interrogate men about why each of their sperm failed to create an embryo which, I imagine, would not be well-received by Mr. Franklin given the frequency with which he must masturbate since no sane woman alive would demean themselves by having sex with such a misogynist bastard.

    I think I love you.

  • I agree this is insane! What are they going to say next? You had an abortion who cares about the cause you weren't able to keep this pregnancy healthy so you go to jail for murder? Really this idea all it can do is destroy lives, not help anything. And what about standard rape kits. Usually they give the raped woman a day after pill which really is an abortion pill. Oh and if they understood how an IUD worked they might outlaw them and go after people who have them. Half of the job of an IUD is to stop fertilization and in the times it happens the other half is to prevent the uterus from allowing the fertilized egg to attach to the wall. Really they understand nothing and all they are going to do is hurt people if this gets passed (though it probably won't).

  • Abortion legislation made my first missed m/c a 3 1/2wk living hell--they knew from the start the heartbeat wasn't viable but I had to wait until it completely ended for my dr to do anything. I then had a second missed m/c after making it to 12 wks with severe m/s (that resulted in 10 cavities, that was a fun reward). Both times there were no medical answers and it took almost three years for us to have our son. I'd like to see the person who dares to question me about what happened. Super Angry How do these people get elected!
