DH and I both work  downtown so we carpool to work. We both have very flexible jobs so yesterday, DH emailed me and asked what time I was getting off of work. I told him I would leave whenever he wanted to leave. He said he wanted to leave at 2:30 pm...so we did.  We were going to pick up DD but then I told him that I wanted to wait to go pick her up because I had such a headache and have been so tired because DD hasn't been sleeping very well. I felt really bad and flipped flopped over the decision for a bit. Then I decided that we would just go home first. So we went home and I took a nap and felt so much better when I went to go pick up DD. I still feel bad though because that was time that I could have been spending with DD.

Don't feel bad.  You got to spend better quality time with her because you went home, took a nap, and got rid of your headache first.

I've done it too.  Sometimes you just need a break, and the opportunity presented itself.  You should not feel bad at all!

Don't feel bad at all. That was time you needed to yourself to let yourself be a better mommy. Thats the way I see it

Good for you for taking care of yourself.  I'm sure your DD enjoyed having her rested Mommy when you got there.  No guilt necessary.

dont feel bad!!! Nap times are good for your health....and i bet you were more rested and had more energy to play with your DD!!!

That is not terrible at all.  If you didn't feel well you wouldn't have enjoyed that time with her anyway.  So you got some rest and picked her up a little later.  No big deal.  I would love the opportunity to do that sometimes.

Don't feel bad. Once a week, I'll hand DS over to my mom for the afternoon so I can get a few hours to myself. I typically end up running errands or cleaning, but it's nice to have some time for yourself every once in a while to regroup.

Don't feel bad! We all need that sleep without our LOs around. When DD was first born, I'd sleep for a few hours upstairs while DH was watching her and it was the best sleep I've gotten since she's been born!
