Well I will try to make this as brief as possible. I went to the OB for my regular check up. He measured my stomach, we listened to the heartbeat & that was about it. So i went to work like any other day. About an hour to 2 hours later I went to use the restroom and noticed bright red blood when I wiped. So of course I continued to check & it was just spotting but definitely there. I went back to my desk & continued to drink lots of water. The next time I went to use the restroom same thing but a little more so I called the Dr.
The receptionist called me back & asked me to come in this afternoon. The exam was all normal. The NP couldn't figure out a source for the spotting. She's kind of an idiot but that's a story for another day. But she placed me on bed rest until Thursday when I go back to see if I can be released to work. My anatomy scan u/s was scheduled for the 1st but they were able to get me in today later in the afternoon. (they don't do u/s in house). So I went & grabbed some lunch & waited across the street from the u/s office.
The u/s went fairly well. Our little guy was extremely active. He is definitely all boy. The ultrasound showed I have a low lying placenta which is probably the cause of the spotting. So I go back in 4 weeks to see if it has resolved itself & moved up & out of the way. But for now bed rest it is. Oh & to put icing on the cake our lights keep flickering. That would be my luck to not only be on bed rest but to have no power. lol

Ahh, Rach, you scared the daylights out of me!
I'm glad that an impromptu u/s was able to determine the cause of the spotting, and I hope the issue is resolved soon with lots of care and rest! PLEASE let me know if you need anything - I'm so close!
And LOL to the NP: She's quite the dingbat, huh?
I see her on the 1st!
Well, if this isn't the right kind of weather for bed rest, I don't know what is. I'm glad that it seems to just be a scare - I hope everything continues to be normal.
Oh no! I hope it's something that resolves itself and quickly.
I had a low-lying placenta with partial previa early on with DS but it resolved itself by 30 weeks. I hope your situation is the same. Good luck and keep us posted!
