Babies: 3 - 6 Months

What time is bedtime?

What time do you put your LO to bed?

I've always put DS to bed about 9:00pm, but as I'm reading about better sleep techniques, it seems like maybe that's to late. Once we transitioned to the crib at 3 months, he did great for about 2 weeks. He was up once a night at the same time to eat. However, the last 3-4 weeks have been terrible, he's up constantly. I'm not trying to get him to STTN, I'm just trying to rule out if maybe he's overtired by 9:00pm and if that's causing the new sleep pattern.

  • Lately, I've been lucky if he stays up past 6. though the last couple of nights have been late nights (like after 7).... but I think that has to do with his teething, and the cold that he has.
  • Bathtime is 8:30, last feeding 9:15 and usually out by 9:30. But sometimes she will fight her bedtime and I cant get her to sleep until 10. We have tried an earlier bedtime, but she's a little ball of energy and wants to go, go, go!

  • We put him to bed around 7 - 7:15. that's just when he gets tired.  Sometimes it's a little earlier, but we try to keep him up until 7.  He get's up around 7-7:30am with 1 feed in the night

This is pretty much our routine too.Does she sleep well?

  • She goes to bed anywhere from 8 to 9pm.  Sometimes she falls asleep around 5:30 or 6 and I have tried just leaving her in her crib hoping it would be for the night.  But she always wakes up after about 1/2 hour.  So, laying her down between 8 and 9 is the only thing that seems to be working for us.

At night, yes, she will usually sleep until 7:30 without waking up. But during the day she takes a lot of little catnaps.

  • She goes to bed anytime between 9-9:30. This is awesome considering a month ago she wouldn't stay down before 11pm. I'm slowly trying to move her bedtime up with a goal of 7:30.

This.  Although if she has had a particularly bad nap day, she'll go down for a "nap" around 630 and not wake up, so I dream feed her around 930. I NEVER wake my baby.  All hel! breaks loose in my house if you do!

  • Between 7-8.  Depending on how tired she is.  Last night it was 7:45pm.  The night before it was 7pm.
  • Thanks for all the responses!

I will start working towards an earlier bedtime to see if that helps any. It makes me sad to think of putting him to bed at 7:00 when I don't get home until 6:00! :(

  • I'm late, he never goes to bed before 10:00!  He'll fall asleep somewhere between 6:30 and 7:00, sleep until 8:00 or so, then go down for good at about 10:00.  I'll start to give him his last bottle at about 9:00.  He sleeps until 8:00 in the morning, which is perfect for my morning routine.  I don't have a set work schedule, so sometimes he'll sleep until 8:30 or 9:00, but not often.  I'm not going to wake him up if he wants to sleep!

  • Between 9 and 10. Sometimes Juliana will push it to 10:30 if she is really fighting sleep, but she is almost always out for the night by 10. I wonder if this is to late sometimes, but it seems to be working great for us and she STTN until 8 a.m. so I don't really want to move/mess with anything.

I don't blame you. I definitely wouldn't try to fix something that's not broken!

  • Hunter's bedtime has been 8pm since he was 2 months old. If he is tired a bit early, then I will do like 7:45pm, but then he will sleep till 7-730am.

  • Bedtime routine is bath around 730 and then we read a story then nurse around 8.  He usually falls asleep for good by 830 or so.  He pretty much put himself in this habit and we just rolled with it.

  • DS doesn't nap well or consistently so he is in bed by 7 each night. For a while, it was hard for us to keep him up past 6:30. As he gets older though, he is starting to go down between 7-7:30 now.

  • we generally start our bedtime routine at 7pm, and DD is usually asleep in her crib by 8pm.  if she shows signs of being really tired prior to 7pm, i'll bump up bedtime by 15 minutes.

  • DS's bedtime is about 6:30 pm. He starts to get fussy around 6:00 so we usually start bedtime routine then. Bedtime routine is bath, BF, and book. He is usually awake when I lay him down.I dream feed at 10:00 and he sleeps until 6:30 or 7:00 am. In addition he takes 3 one hour naps throughout the day.
