Whole Milk transition and diaper rash = related?

Hi Moms!
My LO just turned 1 on 2/6 and we've been working on introducing whole milk - per our pediatrican's approval. However, I've noticed in the last couple days he's gotten more diaper rash than before, because he seems to be having more BMs now too. Is this normal? Will it gradually get better or could this be a sign of an allergy?

DD had a bit more of a rash when we made the switch too, but she also has a very sensitive bum.  She is also having more BM's now since making the full transition to whole milk (last week) and they are slightly less firm, not runny though.  I think LO's digestive systems are just trying to adjust to something new.  Unless your LO seems to be uncomfortable or is having diarrhea, I would just give it a few more days.  HTH!

We had that issue with Liam and our ped told us to hold off for awhile on milk. He said some babies are just not ready for it at 1. ( he explained in detail what it was about the milk but for the life of me I can't remember what he said it was because I was busy crying on the inside that I still have to buy formula heh) We've been giving him the toddler formula.

We had the same issue -- BMs were looser and almost seemed to burn his rear.  We went back to half whole milk and half toddler formula and DS was fine.  DS just turned 18 months old and we are just now on all whole milk.  His system just couldn't take it at 12-13 months.  We probably could have switched before now, but we had the formula and just waited until it was gone.  He's had no issues whatsoever this time.

We had the same thing but our pediatrician thinks it was coincidence, because Zack had been eating a ton of cheese and yogurt without any ill effects.

The rash went away after a week or so, regardless.
