Today is my first dr's appt, and I'm only 5wks6 days. I am going this early because I have always had higher blood pressure (since I was 21) so I want to meet with my dr. and get on blood pressure medication right away. When I was pregnant with DD I never had any protein in my urine or pre-E just a little bit high blood pressure, it never seemed to affect the baby or me, but always good to be cautious.
I'm a little nervous about it, because it's almost too early to see a heartbeat (there is a chance) but if we don't see it I'll be worried sick. I don't even know if she'll give me a u/s, she might just ask me to come back in 2 weeks. Let's see...just hope it goes well

Re: First appt
I am in kinda the same situation that you are in. I am a type II diabetic so my first appt is tomorrow and I will be 5 weeks 3 days. I am not expecting to see much either.
Good luck at your first appointment, and I hope all goes well!
The appointment went well, and like I figured my bp was high and they want to check my bp everyday this week and do blood work before deciding on a course of action-which medication she'll put me on. I'm not so worried as I had high bp throughout my first pregnancy and dd was born normally and healthily, but I just figure it's best to get a jump on this.
She didn't do an ultra sound, because she said there isn't much to see right now. I go back for a follow-up with her on Saturday (I love that dr's work Saturdays here in India) and she'll put me on meds and MAYBE then she'll do an ultra sound. I'll be 6wks4ds and there is more potential to see something. But I'm also ok waiting another 2 weeks if need be.
