Back at work update

I am back at work - So far so good. The baby didn't notice the difference. The only problem is that my BM seemed to have dried up :( even though I tried pumping at work and spent all weekend by the pump at home (I EPed when I stayed home).

I was also offered a new position (with same company) so that I will be able to work from home half of the time (eventually). I think I will take it.

Missing everybody!

I hope your milk comes back!  It might just be the routine change.  Are you drinking enough water, do you think?

  • I was like you, pumping because DD would not latch.  I went back to work, and my BM dried up as well. I called the lactation consultant and was told you need to pump at least 6 times a day, which I just could not do.  Even with fenugreek, BM dried up.  So I know where you are coming from.  (( hugs! ))

Congrats on the new position!  I hope it works out for you.

Holy Crap! No wonder my BM dried up.

Good luck on the back to work.  It will get easier.  And formula is not poison.  Remember that when you get frustrated with the BM.

  • I'm so sorry about the BM drying up;  this is why I am terrified to start pumping instead of just nursing.  As vanverth said, formula is not poison - your little one will be just fine.  Ellie only had BM for 5 months and she is an incredibly healthy little girl!

I hope the working from home position treats you well - as I said before, I love doing it and I know you'll be able to make it work for you!!

I bet the milk is just a dip in production. Mine did the same thing the first week but then it bounced right back. Just drink a ton of water and keep up with your pumping.

  • Thank you for your support everybody!

Yes, I am drinking a lot of water, and I am sure she'll be fine with formula :)
