I am thinking of switching to CDing....it would just be way cheaper. I was interested in g diapers as they have the inserts that you can just flush away. Do any other CDs have inserts like that?
ETA: I'd like CDs that will grow with my LO...all CD recs are greatly appreciated!
Re: Thinking of switching to CD - help!
Your son is adorable! If you like the idea of the flushable/disposable inserts I would recommend looking into flip diapers and grovia all in twos. They both have disposable options, but you can also use cloth inserts which I prefer. Both of those shells are also one size, so they have snaps that will make them smaller or bigger for your LO. I like both of those systems a lot.
Most people try a variety of diapers out in the beginning to figure out what they like and what works for their LO. I bought a ton of different kinds and ending selling the ones that didn't work for us. G-diapers were not my favorite but you may love them.
You can also do a trial from jillian's drawers or another store. That is a much cheaper way to try everything out!
Thank you so much! Your LO is quite the cutie as well! I am already researching the diapers you recommended. Thanks again!
Good luck!
Well, right now we purchase day diapers, overnight diapers, and g-diaper inserts to put in the overnight diapers because he was leaking through his diaper every night.
I agree the disposable inserts wouldn't be any cheaper than disposables.
Night time diapering can be a challenge.. if he's peeing through diapers overnight you may want to try fitteds and covers overnight, with hemp. There are a couple of diaper sites that sell overnight diaper solutions, too.
I don't really have any recommendations for disposable inserts since I don't use them. I like pockets, though. We mostly use BumGenius, but it's sort of by chance -- I love Happy Heinys and Blueberries as well. And DD is asleep in a Knickernappies tonight, with a fleece liner since we're battling some rash and I used Triple Paste.
I do second the idea of a trial, though. It will let you try a variety of things out.
