XP: Interviewing midwives for HBAC

XP with Natural Birth board:

I'm planning to schedule interviews with a few homebirth midwives that do HBACs.

Is there a good list of questions I should ask?  Thanks!

In addition to the questions you would has a HB midwife anyway, I would ask:

-how many VBACs have they done?

-Success rate for VBAC?  Transfer rate?  Cesarean rate?

-how do they monitor you during labor?  How would they know if a uterine rupture were occurring?

-How would they handle a rupture?  What is the emergency transport protocol?

-Have they ever had a rupture before and how did they handle it?  What was the outcome? 

-Do they have a relationship with any ob/gyns in case you need to transfer?

-Is there anything that would preclude you from an HBAC (e.g. placenta implanted over the scar) 

-Specifics about the situation that led to your primary cesarean and any questions relevant to that (e.g. mine was for failure to descend/OP baby so I asked my doctor about how he would handle that situation)

-Any restrictions on you as a VBAC mom?
